First party SUCCESS!

Well, my first 2 Stampin' Up! parties were a great success. Saturday morning, my mom invited some people to her house and I was able to present for the first time. Then on Sunday I had some girls over to my house to do it all again. I was very pleased with how well it all went. We had a lot of fun making the "make and take" projects and overall, I felt that I didn't stumble over my words too much. =) So, for any of you who are interested in having a party and getting free Stampin' Up! products, let me know! Through the end of this month only, you get an extra $25 in free Stampin' Up! products for hostessing a party. You can't beat that! (I just love free stuff!!!) Well, I hope that everyone has a fabulous week!... Until next time!

Crazy Kids!

So, once a month, I get a chance to go work with the children from the battered women's shelter here in Nashville. I really don't do a whole lot, I just go play with the kiddos while the mom's have their meetings. It's actually a lot of fun. Well, last Thursday night was an eventful night for me there. There are two of the cutest little boys that go there who are maybe a little over 1 year old. We were able to go outside, because the weather was so nice, which made the whole evening get off to a great start. Well, one of the little boys was playing in the sandbox with some of the other kids. After playing for a little while, he walked up to me with this horrible look on his face and was crunching... on sand. So, without even thinking, I stuck my finger in his mouth and started trying to get as much of the sand out as I could. No sooner than my finger went in, he bit down. I almost said a bad word right there on the church playground. ha ha. After that I just let him chew it up and tried to get him to spit as much of it out as I could. Later, the same little boy was running and he went into the little jungle gym. It's pretty short, so I stayed outside and let him look around for a second. All of a sudden, I hear him screaming... I ran into the jungle gym, which looks like a boat and he was crying. He ran into my arms and I held him for a second, then he was ready to go running again. I sat him down as his sister was coming in to check on him. She told me not to worry because he gets hurt all the time. About 2 minutes later, she came back up to me with him and said, "I think he may have gotten hurt a little bit more than we thought." I looked at him and he had blood dripping down his mouth. AHHHH! I picked him up and he threw his head into my chest. (blood all over my shirt) We went to the barthroom and got him all cleaned up. His lip just had a small place where he busted it. He was fine, but it still scared me. So, we went back outside, he went back to playing. I was walking around playing with differnt kids when one of the other helpers was carrying the other little boy who is about the same age. He was getting very sleepy. As soon as I walked up, he reached his hands out to come to me. I carried him and let him rest his head for a few minutes. Then, I felt it... My shirt was wet. I took him in and changed his diaper, but the damage had already been done. That night, I left with a hurt finger, blood on my shirt, and pee on my shirt. (Very good birthcontrol, might I add) I couldn't get in the shower fast enough when I got home.
Well, on Fridays as many of you know, I babysit a little boy named Lucas. He is the cutest thing ever! He is honestly one of the funniest kids I've ever come in contact with. Well, Friday morning started like most mornings with Lucas asking me, "Pay hockey wif you?"... He has been going to hockey games since he was a baby so he knows a lot more of what's going on than I do, and he's only 2. Well, he plays with a hockey stick and I play with a baseball bat and we just hit a little ball around on the floor and that's playing hockey. Friday morning, Lucas was standing up straight with the ball right next to him. I thought he was wanting to play, so I ran up and hit the ball away from him. He screamed and said, "Spar Spangle" HA HA HA HA! He wanted to sing the Star Spangled Banner before we played ball. He then proceeded to sing most all of the words to the entire song. (I say most because at some parts, he just makes up words, ha ha) After he sang very loudly, "and the hoooommmmmeeee offfff ddaaaaa baaaavvveeee" We were able to play ball! HOW CUTE IS THAT?!?!?!
Well, that's all for now. The Lucas story was too cute not to share. =)
